An experienced professional, Ekaterina Mestre joined BGI Capital in April of 2020 as Chief Credit Officer, providing her banking, financial strategy, entrepreneurial and business development experience to the firm along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. As Chief Credit Officer at BGI Capital, Ekaterina applies her knowledge of credit risk, legal documentation, policy application and regulations to her responsibilities at BGI Capital. Within her role, she is responsible for measuring and managing the aggregate risk in the lender’s loan portfolio while overseeing the fund’s commercial credit and collection policies, procedures, and processes.
Prior to her position at BGI Capital, Ekaterina founded the Mestre Group, which she currently owns, providing banking consultation and successfully managing all credit aspects of a private fund with over $100 million in real estate loans booked in 2019, collateralized by both commercial and residential properties. In 2013, she became the Vice President of Intercredit Bank and began her role as the Assistant Vice President of Brickell Bank in 2004. These roles have led her to possess unmatched knowledge in developing strategic alliances with corporate clientele and credit risk administration.
Ekaterina acquired her Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Finance from Florida International University. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
